Description
An account of the resource
Pentecostalism, also known as the Apostolic Faith Movement: a renewal movement within Protestant Christianity placing emphasis on the restoration of the “gifts of the Holy Spirit” including glossolalia, healing, prophesying, and the interpretation of prophecy.
In 2018-19, the Religion in Kansas Project examined the sparsely documented roots of the Pentecostal movement in Topeka, Kansas. Intern-driven field and archival research culminated in an open access digital exhibition and public presentation conveying the origins of the movement as well as how social, economic, religious, and physical features of Kansas influenced early Pentecostalism.
