This collection holds the papers of Charles Monroe Sheldon (1857-1946), pastor of Central Congregational Church, Topeka, Kansas, from 1889 to 1920 and author of the international best seller, In His Steps, which was published in 1897. The seven boxes include Sheldon's writings, correspondence, clippings and other materials relating to his work and life. The collection also includes the papers of Mary (Merriam) Sheldon, Charles Sheldon's wife, as well as the papers of Central Congregational Church.
